Später nach der Wende arbeitet er u. a. für Lothar de Maziere und begegnet dabei Margaret Thatcher, George Bush sen. und invoice Clinton. Er dolmetscht auch bei den Vereinten Nationen.

Ghantus hat ein untypisches Leben für einen DDR-Bürger. Er sieht die Länder und trifft auf Menschen, von denen viele seiner Mitmenschen nur träumen können.
